An Asteroid Mutt is a creature in The New Adventures of He-Man.
Asteroid Mutts were savage creatures who loved on Asteroid RY874. The were large, brown animals with snouts. Three of them tangled with Spinwit of the Galactic Guardians at one time.
Spinwit, while on his way from the Geltoid Galaxy and the planet Rintor, received a one-sided distress call from Asteroid RY874 and, being one of the Galactic Guardians, had to answer the call. He was actually being led into a trap set for him by the Evil Mutants and found himself attacked by Hoove and Optikk flying Shuttle Pods. Spinwit's communication module was hit by the Mutant's laser fire. The guardian managed to lose his pursuers and land on the Asteroid.
Spinwit made the Mutants believe his ship had exploded by using a blast from his rocked combined with the wreckage from teh communications module. In reality, the battered Astrodub had landed safely, and Spinwit began fixing it with his trusty toolkit. Unfortuntaly, his repairs drew the attention of several large Asteroid Mutts. Spinwit used his spinning and jumping powers to avoid the cretures for a while, but was eventually caught by one of them. He escaped using one of his electronic tools, spin-jumped into the cockpit of his Astrosub and drove the three Mutts off by turning on the vehicle's exhaust.
Spinwit finished the repairs and returned to his course for Rintor, where he arrived just in time to help his fellow Guardians in the third and final challenge.
