Masterverse He-Man - Battle Armor

In the original Mattel Masters of the Universe toyline, Battle Armor He-Man and Battel Amor Skeletor, released in Wave 3 in 1984, were the first new versions of He-Man and Skeletor since the first wave in 1981. New versions continued in successive waves with Thunder Punch He-Man, Flying Fists He-Man and Laser Power He-Man. Plus Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Terror Claws Skeletor and Laser Light Skeletor. But the Battle Armor is arguably the most iconic.

Battle Damage Play Feature[]

In the original Battle Armor He-Man and Skeletor figures, the play feature was a rolling drum inside the action figure, that would show "Battle Damage". He-Man and Skeletor punch each other and you can see the damage. The rolling drum mechanism required the Battle Armor to be bulky.

Battle Armor He-Man has shown up in subsequent toylines like Classics, Masterverse and Origins. But in the newer toylines, they have made the battle damage modular instead of a play feature that limits options for the action figure. You take off the H-Symbol and replace it with a battle damaged H-Symbol.

In Masters of the Universe: Revolution, (where He-Man is even wearing the Battle Armor in the poster for this Netflix show) the scene where He-Man wears the armor, the armor takes damage, and the ejects the damaged H-Symbol piece and replaces it with a fresh one.

Iconic[]

Not only has every regular Mattel toyline done Battle Armor He-Man, so so has most of the oddball toylines. Motu Minis, Eternia Minis, Loyal Subjects, and more.
