Wiki Grayskull

From Here to Eternia was the sixth issue of Marvel Comics' Masters of the Universe ongoing comic series.

Synopsis[]

On a trip back to the central tower of the three towers of Eternia, the tramway explodes. Man-At-Arms gathers Stonedar, Rokkon, Snout Spout and Rio Blast and sets out to make repairs, leaving Adam and Orko in charge of central tower. In reality, the explosion was caused by Skeletor, who needed a distraction to get the heroic warriors away from central tower. Skeletor sets off for central tower in his new creation; the Fright Fighter.

Skeletor attacks the central tower in the Fright Fighter and captures Orko. He imprisons Orko in the base of the tower and then disguises himself as Orko. Meanwhile, the heroic warriors notice multiple acts of sabotage around the towers as they conduct their repairs. Skeletor, still disguised as Orko, suggests they go to Castle Grayskull and ask The Sorceress for advice, but Man-At-Arms leaves him in charge of the towers and goes on ahead with Adam.

Skeletor attempts to follow them, but returns to the tower after becoming lost on the monorail system. Adam meets with the Sorceress, who warns that things are not what they seem. Adam changes into He-Man just as the towers are attacked again, and he and Man-At-Arms race back to the towers. When they return, He-Man sees "Orko" removing his hat, which makes him suspicious, as Orko never removes his hat. He unmasks Orko as Skeletor attacks in the Fright Fighter.

Orko breaks free, and helps He-Man climb the tower to reach the Blaster Hawk, which he flies into battle against Skeletor. He-Man knocks Skeletor from the Fright Fighter and into the moat around the central tower, where Skeletor conjures a large Slime Monster to fight him. He-Man and the heroic warriors defeat the monster, and Skeletor escapes in the chaos.

Behind the scenes[]

  • This issue features a number of strange errors and continuity mistakes:
    • This story, bizarrely, has Skeletor not knowing how to get to Castle Grayskull, despite him attacking Grayskull head on in the first issue of the series.
    • Man-At-Arms, oddly, refers to the central tower as the "royal palace". A few panels later, the central tower is now inside the royal palace, with no explanation! In the next panel, the palace has vanished again and the tower suddenly has a large moat!
    • The claws of the central tower attack He-Man at one point, without explanation.
    • Viper Tower is now beside Snake Mountain, despite not appearing in any previous issues.
  • Rokkon and Stonedar mention they are still only visitors to Eternia.
  • While Viper Tower is usually a place of great power in other canons; here, it appears to mostly function as a telescope.
  • The whole issue appears to serve mostly as an extended commercial for the Eternia playset; spotlighting the sky car, monorail, Viper tower and even the ladder!
