The Havoc Staff is the instrument through which the wicked Skeletor wields the malevolent Power of Havoc. It appears in the 2021 Netflix series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
History[]
Originally, the Staff was a scepter and an artifact related to the mysterious Castle Grayskull. When Prince Keldor found the Castle and demanded its sorceress, the Eldress, bestow the Power unto him in exchange for the safe release of his abducted nephew, Prince Adam, he was offered to choose one of two totems to wield the Power.
One was a sword and the other a scepter. Keldor snubbed the sword and chose the scepter and when he bathed it in the Power, his evil nature corrupted the power and became infected with Havoc, rotting away the flesh of his left hand and forearm. Keldor was banished from the Castle though not before he managed to get a fatal blow upon the Eldress, going into stasis within the Fright Zone in an effort to keep the malediction deriding him at bay, emerging ten years later after sensing the Power (when his nephew, Adam, used the Sword to transform into He-Man for the first time).
Keldor reunited with his cohorts, Evelyn and Kronis when they found him draining some of Eterno's finest to stymie his affliction. Together they stole the Sword to regain access to the Castle. There, the evil prince tried to force Adam to unlock the Power, only for He-Man to ultimately share the Power with his friends and together they defeated the villains.
In a moment of desperation and madness, Keldor bathed himself entirely in Havoc, transforming himself into the undead tyrant Skeletor while his scepter was transformed into the Havoc Staff.
