Helm

Meliac is a minor character from the animated series The New Adventures of He-Man.

Helm was a painter from the planet Darius-7, and an acquantance of Mara and Master Sebrian, who knew Helm's grandmother.

It was his grandmother who gave him a set of magical paintbrushes, whith which he could make paint enchanting pictures that appeared to move. Several of his paintings were being sold by an Denebrian Art Dealer in Gorn City.

When Adam of Grayskull first met Helm, he felt a slight jealousy of the way Helm kept complimenting Mara. When Helm presented Mara with the gift of a painting of a Snow Leopard and Master Sebrian with one of a Love Bird, he explained he had not known Adam would be present as well and therefore did not bring him a present. He did however, at one point presented the Scientists of Primus with the gift of a painting of a butterfly.

Shortly afterwards, the floating city of Levitan was attacked by a fire breathing Dragon. He-Man managed to destroy the creature, which broke apart into tiny peaces of canvas. Two of the scientists, Gepple and Meldoc identified the substance as Temperic Oil paint, the same kind of substance Helm used on his artworks. He-Man accused Helm of knowing more about the dragon, and Helm came to the conclusion that Mara and Sebrian might be in danger of having the creatures on the paintings he gifted them come alive.

They raced to Master Sebrian's Home in the Oasis, to find Mara and Sebrian already under attack. Helm managed to paint another piece of art featuring a Hunter, knowing that he could be able to bring that one to life as well and have it fight the other creatures.

During the confrontation with the painted creatures come to life, Skeletor and Slush Head appeared, revealing themselves to be behind the scheme. Helm destroyed the paintbrushes that he had used to create the animal paintings, but not the one he recently used to create the Hunter. With the help of the newly painted Hunter, Skeletor and Slush Head were soon on the run, and Helm was commended by He-Man for sacrifising his precious paintbrushes and heirlooms from his grandmother.
