Horde Troopers are foot soldiers of the Horde. Although each trooper is individually unremarkable, in large numbers they are used to great effect in the occupation of Etheria by Hordak. Vast armies of Horde Troopers were also used during the Horde's failed invasion of Eternia.
She-Ra: Princess of Power[]
The Horde Troopers first were originally developed for the She-Ra animated series. Originally, they were written to be humanoids of various alien races wearing bulky armor, but it was soon decided to have them all be robots. So that the writers were allowed to create somewhat more violent action sequences, as robots cannot feel pain.
However, some episodes of She-Ra: Princess of Power still depicted the troopers with names and feelings, treating them as bullies who enjoy tormenting innocents and fear Hordak's disapproval; this behavior may be considered as unusual for machines, but actually, partially-emotional robots exist in the He-Man universe.
A couple of variations appear, such as:
- the Space Trooper: a variation with protective armor to survive the riggors of outer space, used to pilot Horde Rockets.
- the Jet Trooper: a variation on the regular Horde Trooper especially trained to use a jet pack for flight.
- the Naval Trooper: a variation on the regular Horde Trooper especially trained to work on sea vehicles such as the Horde Dreadnought. This trooper wears a different helmet complete with what appears to be a breathing apparatus attached.

Trivia[]
In the episode The Stone in the Sword, Hordak cherishes a good luck charm in the shape of a Horde Trooper. When he hits his fist on a monitor table, the good luck charm falls off and breaks into tiny pieces. Hordak blames Grizzlor for making him do it and transforms his right arm into his vacuum cleaner attachment to clean up the broken bits.
