He-Man atop one of the Ice Mountains.
The Ice Mountains are a region in the northern part of the western continent on Eternia[1], located between the Mystic Mountains and the polar cap. They are home to creatures such as Ice Hackers and Ice Trolls, as well as Granamyr and the Dragons of Darksmoke.
The Region of Ice, ruled over by Ice Lord, was hidden beneath the icy plains of these mountains. When the Royal Family took a skiing holiday int he Ice Mountains, each of them fell into traps sprung by the Ice Lord and, having been captured, were frozen in blocks of ice by the Ice Spider Slush.
The Ice Trolls often set traps in the Ice Mountains, such as cannons that fired Ice Cannon Balls. He-Man, flying a Wind Raider with Orko and Monteeg managed to evade two of these cannon balls by entering the entrance to Needle Mountain. He-Man told Orko to take control of the vehicle, while he himself jumped out and managed to block the entrance with a slab of ice. He and Orko were unaware at the time that the trap had not sprung by accident, but had been manipulated magically by the evil Monteeg.[2]
