Makkina is a planet in The New Adventures of He-Man.
Makkina was an incredibly advanced planet located two thousand Hyper-Telkettes from the Tri-Solar System in the Cetus Galaxy. Their speciality was creating machines and vehicles, including the Terrortreads used by the Evil Mutants. However, by the time the conflict between the Mutants and the Primans took place, the models of Terrortreads being used were long out of date and had started to fall apart.
Long ago, the people of Makkina designed machines to run every facet of their civilisation, leaving more time to devote to the pursuits of the mind. The Protectons kept the Makkinaks from all harm after poverty and war had been eliminated. The Master Control Robot provided both the energy source and the designs for everything the Makkinaks needed. Merely by indicating their needs, they could change the automatic production line to whatever they chose.
In truth, the Makkinaks were no longer in control of their own planet, as they left all decision making up to the Protectons. When the robots realized that the Mutants and Primans were at war with each other, they decided to put an end to this conflict by occupying both Primus and Denebria. Both visiting parties were immediately captured in Energy Nets.
However, a secret underground resistance had been building for some time among the people of Makkina intend on overthrowing the robotic Protectons. After the Guardians had managed to escape from the Protectons, resistance member Emar took them to an underground meeting place from which they could strike against their enemies. When Emar introduced the Galactic Guardians, another resistance member, Zak's first instinct was to destroy the Priman robot Gleep, but he could be stopped before he did it any harm.
Three dangerous bariers had to be passed in order to reach the Master Control Robot, but He-Man managed to get through the first two with ease and with a little help from Gleep, also passed the third.
It turned out the Master Control Robot had duplicated himself. Each one of it's smaller versions could control all of the machines on Makkina. He-Man was captured in a static cage by the Protectons. The Evil Mutants grabbed one of the duplicate brains and escaped in their Mothership, but Emar assured the Guardians that the Master Control Robot's brains were all programmed with several safeguards that protected it from being used by third parties. He-Man managed to break free from his electronic prison and asked Emar and Zak to reprogram the Master Control Robot.
The Guardians kept fighting the Protectons until Emar and Zak managed to disconnect the Master Control, causing all the robots to lose their power. Zak wanted to destroy them all, but Emar vowed to rebuild and reprogram them so that this time, the Makkinaks would remain in charge.
