Mara is a character from the Netflix animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Mara was a former She-Ra from a past era.
Biography[]
According to Light Hope, a thousand years ago, Mara struggled with her She-Ra powers and her social connections.[1] Madame Razz seems to have been an ally of Mara.[2]
Eventually, Mara's struggles became too much for her mind. Mara gave into fear and faulty reasoning, became compromised, and, in an act of desperation, she stranded Etheria in the empty dimension of Despondos. This action nearly killed Etheria and ended the She-Ra line until the arrival of Adora.[3]
Abilities[]
As She-Ra with Sword of Protection, Mara could presumably transform her body, enhance her strength, and draw on the power of the portable runestone in the sword.[4]

Notes[]
- Mara does not have a counterpart in the original She-Ra: Princess of Power series. However, there was a prominent character named Mara who was introduced in The New Adventures of He-Man series. When Mara's true form was fully revealed (rather than as a hologram which did not reveal the colors of her outfit) in The Portal, she resembled the character from the New Adventures.
