After pulling the MOTU license back from Super7 and ending the MOTU Classics line, Mattel launched several new MOTU themed toy lines. MOTU Origins, Masters of the WWE Universe, a toy line aimed at kids based on the 2021 Netflix series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and a toy line Mattel was calling MASTERVERSE. For the first three waves, Masterverse was just action figures based on the Netflix Revelation animated series. But starting with the 4th wave, Mattel started something new. NEW ETERNIA.

Where the MOTU Classics toy line was trying to the true to the original designs of the characters, but in taller, more highly articulated fashion, New Eternia is trying new things with their redesigns of the characters, but in logical ways that feel like they have always existed.

One of the features of the line is most of the "New Look" is created with accessories that can be removed, so the figures have the option of looking like previous versions.

The action figures do not come with mini comics, so there's no new narrative to go with the new looks.

Masterverse has expanded quite a bit and New Eternia is now one of ten sub-lines.
