Metropolis is a city on the planet Earth. It is located on the Eastern seaboard of a continent called North America.
Pre-Crisis[]
The Pre-Crisis version of Metropolis appeared in two crossover stories published by DC Comics in the early 1980s. In both stories, the Kryptonian hero known as Superman was transported against his will from Metropolis to the planet Eternia.
In the story Fate is the Killer, Mer-Man leads Skeletor through an underwater dimensional portal on Eternia's ocean floor to locate the missing half of the Power Sword on Earth. However, all of this happens off screen and it is not revealed where on Earth the sword was hidden. However, since Skeletor went to the trouble of using a giant Sea Serpent to distract Superman in the harbor of Metropolis, it is possible that the sword was located near that location.
