For the character from The Ice Age Cometh, see Phillip.

Philip is a character in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He once got lost and was used by Count Marzo in a scheme to claim the throne of Eternia.

History[]

Philip is the son of the heroic warrior Mekaneck. When Mekaneck was visiting Dragon Mountain with Philip, a huge storm separated the father from his son. Mekaneck injured his neck very badly during the storm. When Man-At-Arms found him, he could only save his life by giving him a bionic neck.

Philip was rescued by the evil Count Marzo who wanted to use the boy's talents as a musician to steal money, but Philip refused to play an enchanting song on his instrument. Marzo used to boy to lure Mekaneck into betraying King Randor and Queen Marlena, but Mekaneck refused and called for the help of the Heroic Warriors.

When Marzo was defeated once again by He-Man and his friends, Philip was finally reunited with his father.

Trivia[]

  • The character model for Philip were designed by Alice Hamm and finalized on November 19, 1984.
  • In the 2017 publication "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - a Character Guide and World Compendium", Phillip from The Ice Age Cometh is listed in the character section as 'Philip (I)' and Philip (Mekaneck's son) from Search for a Son as 'Philip (II)'. However, a picture of Phillip in his young Royal Guard armor is erroniously placed with Meckanek's son, while the entry for 'Philip (I)' receives no picture.
