Portrait of Doom is the 88th episode of She-Ra: Princess of Power.
Plot Summary[]
Moral[]
Loo-Kee: "Hi! It's Loo-Kee again. Did you find where I was hiding today? No? Well, I'll give you another chance. Look carefully. I'm over here! In today's story, we saw how Spritina wished she could play an instrument like Bow. But you know, what really matters is to make the best of what you have, and not waste your time wishing you were like somebody else. Bye now! See you next time."

Behind the Scenes[]
- Script was approved April 18, 1986 and final script revision was done May 29, 1986.
- Hordak mentions Catra's failure at the start of the story. This is a reference to a deleted opening sequence in which Catra and her troopers would have attacked a Twigged village on the edge of the Whispering Woods, only to be defeated by She-Ra, Bow and Netossa.
- While she remains silent throughout this story, in the script, Entrapta stated her reluctance to attack Bright Moon without Hordak's permission.
- The character Frit from the episode Play it Again, Bow makes a silent background appearance. The script explains that he was there preparing a statue of She-Ra for the festival.
- Writer J. Larry Carroll reused several elements from this plot in the Filmation's Ghostbusters episode The Haunted Painting.
Continuity[]
- Catra's disguise is a reuse of the character model for the Good Witch from Brigis. It is an altered version of the disguise by Evil-Lyn in the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe episodes The Curse of the Spellstone and The Royal Cousin and by the wizard Jarvan in A Friend in Need.
- The animated sequence of Angella and Glimmer lifting off to fly into action is reused from Return of the General. Even the dialogue is the same, although it has been re-recorded and the images are flipped horizontally so that the characters now fly off in the opposite direction.
- The animation of Adora peering out from behind the bushes was previously used in the episode The Missing Ax.
- The sequence in which She-Ra lassos the Bat-Meks and pulls them together was previously seen in the episodes Treasure of the First Ones and Return of the General.
- The animation of She-Ra slicing the Annihilator in half while Catra parachutes to safety is reused from Return of the General, in which Hordak was the one who escaped instead of Catra.
- The sequence in which Madame Razz casts a spell with the aid of the Twiggets was previously used, albeit with different Twiggets, in the episodes Beast Island and The Wizard.
- One of the background characters previously appeared as Mach the ax-man in the episode The Missing Ax.
Errors[]
- Several times, Bow's painting changes between shots from having his arms perched at his side to having them hanging loose and back again.
- In the final scene, Bow is wearing his deactivated Combow on his back, over his cape instead of under it.
