Prince Adam as seen in the Dark Horse Comics mini series Masters of the Universe - The Sword of Flaws.
History[]
When Prince Adam was still a pre-teen, he received an orphaned green tiger as a gift from his father. Young Adam complained that he did not care for this gift from the Vine Jungle but Man-At-Arms tought the young Prince that instead of always asking for something, he should try to offer something to the scared tiger cub instead. Adam reached out his hand and told the tiny Cringer not to be scared any more.[1]
In present times, Prince Adam took a tour of the region surrounding Eternos with Prince Stahl in the hope of finding some commond ground between their father's Kingdoms. Stahl accused Adam of being weak, since he had He-Man to protect him from enemies such as at Skeletor, Hordak, King Hiss and Stahl's own father, King Faust of Eisenhold at all times, but Adam did not let Stahl's words upset him, and concentrated on the food at hand instead.
Suddenly the ground began to quake. Teela, who led the Royal Caravan from atop Stridor, made sure to protect Adam, while Man-At-Arms, looked after Stahl. Appearing in the form of Zoar, the Sorceress telepathically informed Adam that his tour was at an end. She senced that Grayskull was being attacked from below, by the forces of Snake Mountain.
Skeletor used a Corebreaker to emerge from the ground just outside Grayskull and begins to drill into the castle walls. While Man-At-Arms and Teela fended of the Evil Warriors and the Sorceress erected an Aetheric shield around the castle, Adam found a moment to flee the battlefield and transform into He-Man.
During the battle, Prince Stahl took control of the Corebreaker after Teela kicked Skeletor to the ground. Man-At-Arms managed to stop the machine while He-Man and the Sorceress kept it's drill from penetrating Grayskull. After the battle was concluded, Stahl's father, King Faust of Eisenhold was so embarrassed by his son's actions, that he agreed to talk with Randor to move towards de-excalation. Adam felt quite pleased with his work as an ambassador between the two regions, but Teela scolded him for hiding during the battle. After she had left, Man-At-Arms assured Adam that someday Teela would know the truth about Adam and He-Man and that this burden would shape Adam into a great King. Adam wondered if he wouldn't be better of performing heroic deeds as He-Man fulltime.[2]
Orko performed a magic trick for Cringer and scared the tiger off in the process, so Adam had to go after him. Then Mekaneck was brought into the throne room. He was part of a Reconnaissance Team that was hit by a wave of illness and delirum at the Cairn of Pantheons. He presented a holographic image of the second Power Sword that has been found on top of Heavenpiercer and explained that only He-Man will be able to reach it. King Randor ordered Teela to assemble a unit of special agents to travel there, and to have both Man-At-Arms and Prince Adam accompany her. But Man-At-Arms suggested it would be wiser to send Adam to Grayskull to seek information about the mysterious blade.
At Grayskull, the Sorceress consulted the Great Eye of the Galaxy and the libraries of the Council of Elders but has found nothing about a second power sword. She requested that Orko help her search for older knowledge in the deeper parts of the castle, but told Adam and Cringer to go and join the others as He-Man and Battle Cat.[3]
