Protectons in defence mode
Protectons are technology that appear in the animated series The New Adventures of He-Man.
Long ago, the people of the planet Makkina designed machines to run every facet of their civilisation, leaving more time to devote to the pursuits of the mind. These Protectons kept the Makkinaks from all harm after poverty and war had been eliminated. The Master Control Robot provided both the energy source and the designs for everything the Makkinaks needed. Merely by indicating their needs, they could change the automatic production line to whatever they chose.
In truth, the Makkinaks were no longer in control of their own planet, as they left all decision making up to the Protectons. When the robots realized that the Mutants and Primans were at war with each other, they decided to put an end to this conflict by occupying both Primus and Denebria. Both visiting parties were immediately captured in Energy Nets.
Soon the Guardians were on the run from the Protectons. However, they learned that one of the representatives they had met, Emar, was secretly part of a resistance against the machines. Together with another resistance member named Zak, the Guardians travel a dangerous path to confront the Master Control Robot, only to find that it had duplicated himself. Each one of it's smaller versions could control all of the machines on Makkina. He-Man was captured in a static cage by the Protectons, but eventually managed to break free from his electronic prison.
With the brain out of control, the Protectons were now intend on destroying all sentiens beings, including the Makkinaks. He-Man asked Emar and Zak to reprogram the Master Control Robot while the Guardians fought for their freedom against the Protectons. They eventually managed to disconnect the Master Control, causing all the robots to lose their power. Zak wanted to destroy them all, but Emar vowed to rebuild and reprogram them so that this time, the Makkinaks would remain in charge.
