Behind the Scenes[]
- Script was approved July 26, 1985 and final script revision took place August 27, 1985.
- According to the screenplay by Bob Forward, it has been three years since Mally and General Sunder met and fell and love.
- As originally scripted, Queen Angella's guards were to fire large swivel-mounted crossbows at the Evil Horde. These weapons were changed to giant cannons in the finished product. However, a guardsman can still be heard saying "Bowman ready, sir!"
- This installment was released on VHS in the UK along with the episodes One to Count On and Out of the Cocoon.
Continuity[]
- Telzy's character model is a recolored and reused version of the one used for young Glimmer as seen in Micah of Bright Moon.
- The animation sequence of Queen Angella and Glimmer lifting off to fly into action is reused in Portrait of Doom. Even the dialogue is the same, although it has been re-recorded and the images are flipped horizontally so that the characters fly off in the opposite direction.
- The sequence of Hordak speaking into a microphone is reused from Flowers for Hordak, although in that instance it was in the Fright Zone instead of the Annihilator.
- The animated sequence of She-Ra capturing the Bat-Meks with a lasso and pulling them together was previously used in Treasure of the First Ones and will be seen again in Portrait of Doom.
- The animation of She-Ra slicing the Annihilator in half while Hordak parachutes to safety will be reused in Portrait of Doom, in which Hordak is replaced by Catra.
