Roboto as he appears in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Biography[]

Roboto was build by Man-At-Arms, who imprinted all of his memories and neural pathways into him at the time. As such, Roboto saw Duncan has his father and Teela as his (adopted) sister.

When Duncan was stripped of his title and banished from the Royal Palace of Eternos by King Randor, Roboto joined his creator/father in exile. They shared a small hovel, where Roboto would perform his share of the tasks, including gathering wood. Some time later they were joined by Orko, who had also been send away from the palace and who was having serious health problems owing to the loss of Eternia's magic.

When Teela, Andra, Evil-Lyn and Beast Man sought Duncan out to ask him to help them find, then revorge the two lost halves of the Sword of Power, the former Man-At-Arms refused, not only because he was forbidden to do any metalwork by law, but also because he saw himself as unfit to offer any kind of services to anyone every again. However, Roboto, sharing all of the younger Man-At-Arms's memories, proposed to help forge the sword and help to recover the two halves in order to do so. This made Duncan change his mind, only for Teela to tell him that his skills would be of better use protecting the Sorceress at Grayskull who was now powerless to protect herself.

Orko, despite his weakened state, also insisted to go along on this one last adventure, and soon the band of warriors was sailing across the Crystal Sea on a seafaring vessel with Roboto at the helm. They found themselves under attack by the Aquaticans and their ravaged looking leader, Mer-Man. But Man-At-Arms appeared out of nowhere to save the group and force Mer-Man to show them the way to the gate of Subternia. Duncan left again, this time finally heading for Grayskull, and Evil-Lyn used the top of the Havoc Staff to open the gate to the land of the dead.[1]

In the Land of the Dead[]

Once inside, the group of warriors were split up and all had to face their greatest fears, some of them in familiar surroundings. Beast Man, Andra]] and Roboto appeared to be in the remains of a battleground, where they spotted Shadow Beasts in the distance. As they were attacked by enemies, each one of them saw their opponents in a different way. Andra thought she was fighting zombies, while Beast Man only saw Fire Bats. Roboto however, was able to see through the deception and recognized their opponents as powerful Shadow Beasts. Andra used her mechanical know how to boost Roboto's power, allowing him to defeat the Shadow Beasts with a burst of blinding light.

The companions were reunited, having all defeated their fears. Evil-Lyn demanded that Teela give her the sword, so she could use it in combination with her wand and open a gateway to Preternia by calling upon the allmighty Zoar with every last bit of magic she could conjure. But before they could pass through the gate, Scare Glow reappeared and caused stone tentacles to grow out of the ground and grab each of the Warriors by the leg and stalagtites to drop from the cavernous ceiling. This time it was Orko who conjured up all the magic that still remained in him, but stoping the stalagtites from falling and redirecting them at Scare Glow. While his friends and companions freed their legs, Orko used all the magic he had left to stop Scare Glow from advancing. Scare Glow was able to grab Orko's scarf, and both of them disappeared in one last explosion, leaving only a small scrap of Orko's garment to cross over into Preternia with the rest of them.[2]

The Preternian Afterlife[]

In the Preternian afterlfe, they were met by Adam, who was as surprised to see them as they were to encounter him. Adam gladly offered the travelers his half of the sword, and proposed that they ask He-Ro to revorge both halves into the Sword of Power. He then sought out King Grayskull during the Wild Hunt for information about a portal back to the land of the living hidden in Preternia's Grayskull Tower.

He-Ro did not compete in the Wild Hunt, and Teela's companions met with him at the Central Tower to reforge the swords. Andra came up with the idea to turn the entire tower into one large forge, as it's walls were constructed from the nearly indestructable ore called Eternium. Roboto was attached with cables to four spires inside the hall, and Evil-Lyn powered his core with some of the last magic left in her wand so he could use it as a forge.

Roboto reforged the two halves of the sword, but his core exploded, leaving him terminally damanged. Before his functions shut down, he realized he had developed a fear of dying, and in doing so had outgrown his programming. Roboto's sacrifice made Adam decide that he would not let any more of his friends die, and to return to Eternia, even if it meant that he would not be allowed into Preternia a second time.[3]
