Sanctuary is the 26th episode of The New Adventures of He-Man.
The Galactic Guardians destroy Flogg's new giant laser canon, but it's wreck emits a green gas that threatens the shield around the planet Primus. Skeletor soon produces more of the gas to weaken Primus and even He-Man's sword is affected.
Plot Summary[]
Flogg is testing his new giant laser cannon but Flipshot and Spinwit activate the Starship Eternia's Grappler Beams and hurl an asteroid at the cannon, destroying it. Skeletor notices that the wreckage is emiting green gas, that somehow interferes with the planeterary shield around Primus. He surmises that by creating more of this gas, the Mutants could destroy the shield forever.
Master Sebrian shows concern about the damaged shield and orders the Scientists of Primus to look into it. Meanwhile, the Mutants have converted the remains of the cannon into a Fog Factory and are preparing to attack the planet. With the shield weakening above Quadrant R-5, right over the Oasis, Slush Head pilots a Shuttle Pod down to Primus. Sebrian tells the Galactic Guardians to destroy the Fog Factory while He-Man will take care of the fighter.
All over the planet, the gas is causing polution and chaos, most notably in the Oasis, Levitan and Titus. Adam of Grayskull transforms into his heroic alter ego to face Slush Head. During the fight, He-Man is struck by lightning and Slush Head manages to knock He-Man's sword out of his hand. Up in space, an armada of Mutant fighter is headed by Skeletor, who pilots his Doomcopter together with Grr expecting to meet He-Man in battle. Using a Portable Vision Phone, Skeletor orders Slush Head back to the Mutant Mothership. Slush Head reluctantly complies. When Skeletor learns He-Man was almost defeated on the planet below, he decides to go down there himself.
In his weakened state, He-Man has turned back into Prince Adam. He is found by Drissi and Caz, who decide to take him to the Cliff Ruins for shelter. They use a giant Garoona leaf as a sled and are surprised to find He-Man's sword lying next to Adam. When Adam wakes up in the safe place, he is unable to explain why he is in posession of the sword. Skeletor orders Grr to track He-Man. Skeletor has a Tracker that will lead him to the homing signal in Grr's collar.
Adam has contacted Master Sebrian, who promises to join him at the shelter. Grr finds them first, but Drissi uses her mental powers over animals to calm him down. Soon Sebrian arrives and tells Adam that they must find He-Man. Caz wants to join them and carry He-Man's sword, but Adam convinces him to stay and protect Drissi instead. Alone with Sebrian, Adam is unable to transform into He-Man. They conclude that the combination of the gas with the lightning must have affected the sword's powers. Another powerful convergenge of energies is needed to restore Adam's ability to transform.
Skeletor and Slush Head are closing in on Grr's gracking colar, but find it hanging on the horn of a giant hairy beast. They have been tricked by Drissi. Skeletor uses his Skull Staff to frighten off the animal, which he calles a 'hairy hybrid'. Sebrian tells Adam to uses his sword as a lightning rod and attract another blast of lighting. As he is struck, he transforms back into He-Man.
Spinwit and Flipshot lock onto the Fog Factory and blow it to bits with a Neutron Beam. Skeletor is reunited with Grr, who bites him on the leg. Soon Drissi, Caz and He-Man reveal themselves. Drissi tells Grr to protect He-Man, and the animal begins biting Slush Head. Skeletor uses his staff to drop a giant boulder on top of He-Man, but he easily survives and uses his sword to energize the boulder and send it after the two villains as they run away.
The fog has gone and the shield is once again restored. Sebrian thanks He-Man, Flipshot and Spinwit and He-Man adds a personal thanks to Drissi. Caz is miffed that he is overlooked as usual.
Moral[]
Flipshot talks about the greatness of fixing something with your own hands. However, He-Man points out to him that the oily rags Flipshot discarded after cleaning himself are a fire hazzard.
