A Scatter Ray was a weapon featured in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Elden was a former soldier who had lost the use of his legs during the Ork Wars in the Sands of Time. While he was defending his post, an accident with the Scatter Ray triggered a rockslide which killed and buried many of his comrades. He vowed never to use a weapon again and worked to discourage his grandson Chad from becoming caught up in the madness of war. However, being unaware of his grandfather's history, Chad loved to play around with the Scatter Ray and imagine himself using it while having adventures with He-Man and Teela.
