The Shadow Beasts as they appears in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
History[]
The Shadow Beasts that roamed in the Eternian land of the dead, Subternia were unlike any other version of the creature that the heroes and villains of Eternia had ever met before. These Beasts could appear in many different guises, and also seemed to be able to grow to enormous size.
When a group of warriors entered the realm of Subternia in search of the dark half of the Sword of Power, they were splt up into groups and had to face apparitions of their greatest fears. While the Lord of Subternia, Scare Glow personally confronted the groups leader, Teela, her companions all faced Shadow Beast attacks.
Evil-Lyn and Orko faced a giant version of a Shadow Beast which seemed to have combined out of many smaller shadows that were shaped as members of Orko's race, the Trollans. Andra thought she was fighting Zombies on a battlefield, while at the same time Beast Man saw his opponents as Fire Bats. The mechanical Roboto however, did not experience fear, being an artificial construct, and was therefore able to see the beasts as they really were. However, he did notice that these beast were unlike any they had ever encountered before, and that they seemed to be reacting to fear.
Andra used her mechanical know how to boost Roboto's power, allowing him to defeat the Shadow Beasts with a burst of blinding light. At the same time, Orko and Evil-Lyn combined their magic and were able to defeat the giant Shadow Beast together.[1]
Trivia[]
- Roboto mentions that the Shadow Beasts in Subternia are like "none they have ever faced before", indicating there are regular Shadow Beasts on Eternia in this continuity as well.
