History[]
Snake Face was one of King Hssss's loyal Snake Men. While he possessed a more humanoid appearance than others of his race, he could unleash his true appearance, which resulted in his eyes, tongue and scalp turning into a tangle of snakes. He had the powerful ability to turn anyone who looked upon him to stone.
Snake Face was trapped within the void beneath Snake Mountain for centuries before being released by Kobra Khan and General Rattlor. Following his release, he assisted King Hssss in subuding Skeletor's evil warriors by turning them all to stone before they could put up a fight, however, his power's did not work on Skeletor himself[1].
Shortly thereafter, Snake Face accompanied Rattlor and King Hssss to Castle Grayskull. While Hssss dueled with the Sorceress and Zodak, Snake Face and Rattlor intercepted He-Man. During the battle, Snake Face attempted to turn He-Man to stone, but He-Man used his shield to show Snake Face his own reflection, deflecting his own power back at him and turning him to stone[2]. The petrified Snake Face was moved to an Eternian prison along with Rattlor, but later stolen by a vengeful Mer-Man (who had been turned to stone by Snake Face and briefly shattered into pieces before being resurrected by Skeletor) as a trophy[3].
