- Spirit was orginally written as a female, to compliment Princess Adora/She-Ra and be the opposite of Prince Adam/He-Man's animal companion Cringer/Battle Cat.
- Unlike Cringer, who is far more nervous and fearful before transforming into Battle Cat, Spirit's personality is identical to Swift Wind's.
