Staff of Avion

The Staff of Avion was a magic staff kept by the people of Avion.

Powers[]

The staff was given to the Bird People by the Elders in ancient times. Stratos only took it out once a year at a special celebration and used it to create a display of fireworks.

History[]

King Von managed to steel the staff as well as kidnap Stratos when he and his Torgs attacked Avion in their Torg Ships. Skeletor then used the staff to free and control the demonic Molkrom, and sent him to destroy Castle Grayskull.

The Sorceress was aware that once the Staff had been used for evil, it must quickly be used to counter this evil or it will explode and take half of Eternia with it. Teela managed to retrieve the Staff from King Von while He-Man went to face Molkrom, but unable to use the staff before it would explode, He-Man tossed it up into Eternia's planeterary atmosphere where the explosion would do no harm.

Having expended it's evil energy, the staff returned to normal and fell back to earth, landing near the place from which He-Man had thrown it, near Castle Grayskull. Stratos took posession of the Staff once more and returned with it to Avion.

Trivia[]

In the Minicomic titled Siege of Avion, the Staff of Avion is known as the Emerald Staff and Skeletor uses it to gain control of Haramesh instead of Molkrom.
The wave one blind box version of Stratos from Loyal Subjects came with a Staff of Avion. Quite the powerful weapon for the hero to be casually wielding.
The Cartoon Collection MOTU Origins figure of Stratos comes with a Staff of Avion accessory. the included Mini Comic also features the staff.
The Stratos action figure from Super7's MOTU 5.5 Retro Collection came with both the Filmation version and the mini comic Emerald version of the Staff of Avion.
