Teela as she appears in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Biography[]
Teela was present at the Royal Palace of Eternos when the Orlax of Primeria suddenly appeared and caused King Randor to fall into a coma. Together with the other Heroic Warriors, Teela hurried the King to Castle Grayskull to find a cure.[1]
Some time later, after the King had recovered, Teela was about to be promoted to Man-At-Arms and her adoptive father Duncan, the current Man-At-Arms was beaming with pride. During the ceremony, a call for help came from the Sorceress, who was under attack from Skeletor inside Castle Grayskull. Her father told Teela to take the lead, as she was now the Royal Man-At-Arms, and she left with the Royal Guard to lead other heroic warriors such as Fisto and Clamp Champ into battle against an army of Skelcons and Evil Warriors.
Inside Grayskull, Teela battled Evil-Lyn and together with her guards tried to subdue Night Stalker. When his father told her to go down into the heart of the castle in search of Skeletor, the evil Lord of Destruction surprised her from behind and knocked her off the long winding staircase, saying she was merely He-Man's 'cheerleader'.
At the heart of the Castle, she was soon joined by He-Man and Battle Cat, who took on Skeletor while Teela fought Evil-Lyn. Moss Man also joined the fight, and both Teela and He-Man were startled to witness the powerful nature god being burned to a crisp by fire from Skeletor's Havoc Staff.
He-Man was tricked into using the sword to open the Orb of Power. Skeletor struck the orb with his Havoc Staff, releasing the very magical power that created Eternia and the entire universe. The Sorceress stopped time for everyone except He-Man and Teela, to find a way to save the Universe, and also to see Teela one last time, which puzzled Teela. He-Man attempted to absorb the magical energy of the Orb with his sword, which split in two. When this happened, Teela was amazed to witness Battle Cat transforming back into Cringer while He-Man reverted to Prince Adam. Skeletor attempted to grab the two halves of the sword for himself, and both he and Adam were obliterated in the explosion caused by the magical impact. The only thing which remained was the top of Skeletor's Havoc Staff.
After the battle, Teela was still contemplating the revelation she had just witnessed when Duncan bore the distressing news to the King and Queen that He-Man had perished while saving Eternia from certain destruction. Randor felt betrayed at having been kept unaware of Adam's secret while nearly everybody else they held dear appeared to be in on it and banished Duncan from the palace. Sharing the King's feelings, Teela quit on her own accord, vowing to leave all the secrets and lies she had lived with for so many years behind.[2]
A Time without Magic[]
After an undisclosed period of time, Teela had changed her life and her look, sporting an undercut and a more practical outfit. Together with her new partner, Andra, they would be hired to perform difficult tasks. In this partnership, Andra provided the technical know-how and Teela the physical prowess. At one point they had been hired by the Priestess to recover one of the few remaining magical artifacts on Eternia: the Glove of Globolah, which had been stolen from its temple by Stinkor. During this mission, they wore cloaks and special breathmasks in order to stand the foul smells emitted by Stinkor. Teela and Andra were successful in their task, and after turning the object to the Priestess, an an old lady who called herself Majestra gave them another task: to recover a magic goblet from Snake Mountain. Andra was a bit hesitant, but Teela accepted immediately.
They entered Snake Mountain by breaking through the walls of the trap door beneath Wolf Gate. Teela was surprised to find Snake Mountain filled with much more technology and the halls being patrolled by Tri-Klops' Doomseekers. The two women infiltrated the Motherboard ceremony dressed in pilgrim robes. After watching a pilgrim receive the mechanical blessing, Teela revealed herself, to distract the cultists from Andra as she moved towards the goblet.
Teela was attacked by the cultist, Whiplash and Blast-Attak, who had trouble keeping his electronic time bomb from going off. When Teela spotted a young girl, she wanted to get her out of there, but the child had already been enhanced and corrupted by Motherboard. Andra grabbed the goblet and used throwing stars to come to Teela's aid, but found herself facing Trap Jaw, whom she defeated with a mechanical arm Teela had severed earlier. After making sure that Blast Attak was unable to stop himself from exploding, the two warrior women left the throne room. The explosion knocked out Whiplash, but Tri-Klops ordered the Doomseekers and even more cultists to go after the women. In the lower depths of Snake Mountain, Teela and Andra passed several pools that housed large tentacle monsters, which conveniently grabbed some of the cultists but did not touch the heroines, who quickly reached another exit and escaped.
They returned the goblet to Majestra and received their payment, but Majestra offered them another challenge: to return the goblet to Castle Grayskull. This time Andra was excited to go, but Teela was uninterested. Grayskull had been declared a Forbidden Zone by King Randor and had taken on its true form of the Hall of Wisdom. Inside, the Sorceress was holding on to the last ember of true magic left in Eternia.
Majestra walked up to the Sorceress, and Teela revealed that she knew Majestra was really Evil-Lyn in disguise. When the stolen goblet turned out to be the top of Skeletor's Havoc Staff, Teela threw her spear at Evil-Lyn, but Cringer appeared out of nowhere and caught it with his mouth. Evil-Lyn was using the remains of the Havoc Staff to strengthen the Sorceress' magic. The Sorceress instructed Evil-Lyn to guard the last ember with her life, and allowed her to add it to the magic of her wand. Teela was tasked to find the two severed halves of the Sword of Power in the two realms in which they were forged: Subternia and Preternia. Again Teela refused, but this time it was Cringer who convinced her to take on this task, on which the survival of Eternia and the entire universe depended.[3]
Before beginning their quest, Teela sought out her adoptive father, who had gone into exile. They found him battling members of the Motherboard cult while trying to keep safe a small vial filled with magic water from a fountain that the cultist had just destroyed. Teela, Andra and Evil-Lyn came to the aid of the fighting man, whom at first Teela did not recognize as Duncan, and they were unexpectedly joined by Beast Man, who had sworn to protect Evil-Lyn. After sending the cult back to Snake Mountain, father and daughter were reunited.
However, Man-At-Arms refused to help find the two halves of the sword and forge them together. Not only because he was forbidden to do so, but also because he had lost all faith in himself. He brought the warriors back to his hovel to give the precious magic water to Orko, who had grown deathly ill because of the lack of magic in Eternia. Also living with them was Duncan's creation, Roboto, who shared all the memories of a younger version of his maker. Roboto proposed that he could join the quest and reforge the sword. Orko also insisted to go with them on one last grand adventure. When Duncan finally decided that he would join them as well, Teela decided that he could better go to Grayskull to protect the powerless Sorceress.
In the Land of the Dead[]
Soon the band of warriors was sailing across the Crystal Sea on a seafaring vessel with Roboto at the helm. They found themselves under attack by the Aquaticans and their ravaged looking leader, Mer-Man. But Man-At-Arms appeared out of nowhere to save the group and force Mer-Man to show them the way to the gate of Subternia. Duncan left again, this time finally heading for Grayskull, and Evil-Lyn used the top of the Havoc Staff to open the gate to the land of the dead.[4]
Once inside, the group of warriors were split up and all had to face their greatest fears, some of them in familiar surroundings. Teela faced the lord of Subternia himself, Scare Glow, whom she mistook for Skeletor for a moment.
Teela told Scare Glow she came looking for one half of the Sword of Power. Scare Glow agreed to give it to her in exchange for her fear, as well as the safe return of her companions. With a snap of his fingers, Teela entered the Well of Darkness, where she fought an illusion that resembled a red eyed version of He-Man. His mocking words took advantage of the fact that Teela still felt betrayed by the fact that Prince Adam never told her about his secret identity.
Teela's opponent admitted to being fear itself rather than He-Man, and soon afterwards transformed itself into a younger version of Teela herself and finally turned into Scare Glow. Teela denied him his prize, as she had learned to control her fears and the Dark half of the Sword of Power appeared in front of her. When she did this, Teela was unaware that a magical mark appeared on her forehead, but Scare Glow certainly did notice.
The companions were reunited, having all defeated their fears. Evil-Lyn demanded that Teela give her the sword, so she could use it in combination with her wand and open a gateway to Preternia by calling upon the almighty Zoar with every last bit of magic she could conjure. But before they could pass through the gate, Scare Glow reappeared and caused stone tentacles to grow out of the ground and grab each of the Warriors by the leg and stalactites to drop from the cavernous ceiling. This time it was Orko who conjured up all the magic that still remained in him, stopping the stalactites from falling and redirecting them at Scare Glow. While his friends and companions freed their legs, Orko used all the magic he had left to stop Scare Glow from advancing. Scare Glow was able to grab Orko's scarf, and both of them disappeared in one last explosion, leaving only a small scrap of Orko's garment to cross over into Preternia with the rest of them.[5]
The Preternian Afterlife[]
Upon their arrival, Teela was surprised to be welcomed by Adam, who was as surprised to see the warriors as they were to encounter him. After learning of Orko's sacrifice, Adam carved Trollan symbols into a headstone near the gate to Preternia and asked Moss Man to allow some Trollan flowers to bloom around it while the other companions left tokens of their remembrance near the stone. Teela left a scrap of Orko's scarf that she had managed to catch and Evil-Lyn her helmet. Adam offered the travelers his half of the sword, and proposed that they ask He-Ro to reforge both halves into the Sword of Power. He then sought out King Grayskull for information about a portal back to the land of the living hidden in Preternia's Grayskull Tower.
However, Grayskull was engaging in the Wild Hunt. A purple panthor was being chased by the Heroes of Preternia. Grayskull was in the lead, riding a Bionatops. Vikor and several others piloted Sky-Sleds while Kuduk and Wundar rode bionically-enhanced dinosaurs. Adam and Teela joined the chase on Flying Discs. Grayskull caught the panthor and won the hunt, then let the animal go.
He-Ro did not compete in the Wild Hunt, and Teela's companions met with him at the Central Tower to reforge the swords. Andra came up with the idea to turn the entire tower into one large forge, as it's walls were constructed from the nearly indestructible ore called Eternium. Roboto was attached with cables to four spires inside the hall, and Evil-Lyn powered his core with some of the last magic left in her wand so he could use it as a forge. At night, the heroes gathered around a campfire. Grayskull agreed to take Teela and her companions to the Tower which bore his name and the portal to Eternia within it. Teela was still upset with Adam for keeping his identity as He-Man a secret and refused to tell him about the danger Eternia and the entire universe were in, even after he offered to give up the everlasting reward and return with her to Eternia.
Roboto reforged the two halves of the sword, but his core exploded, leaving him terminally damaged. Before his functions shut down, he realized he had developed a fear of dying, and in doing so had outgrown his programming. Adam decided that he would not let any more of his friends die, and to return to Eternia. The other Preternians reminded him that if he did, he would not be allowed into Preternia a second time.[6]
Back on Eternia, the group arrived outside Castle Grayskull, which was under attack by Motherboard and being defended by Man-At-Arms. Teela handed Adam the reforged sword and he called upon the Power of Grayskull to restore the Orb of Power and all of Eternia's magic. Unfortunately, Skeletor was also resurrected, having hid in an extremely hidden state inside the top of his Havoc Staff. Skeletor stabbed Adam in the back before Adam could transform into He-Man. As Adam fell to the ground, Teela knelt beside him and attempted to stop the bleeding with her hands. She witnessed Skeletor using the Sword of Power and taking the power of Grayskull to become Skelegod as Evil-Lyn and Beast Man returned to his side.
Physical appearance[]
Teela is a redheaded young woman with blue eyes. Her long hair was originally tied into a bun and secured by a golden tiara topped with a red jewel at the center. She has a slim-but-athletic build, and is noticeably muscular.
Her combat attire consisted of a white bodysuit with a white and gold armor that covered her torso leaving her arms and legs bare. She also wore a pair of high-heeled leather boots with a fur trim. On her arms she had metal bracers both on her upper arms and wrists.
After her self-imposed exile from Eternos City, she discarded her former attire, gained an undercut and shaved half of her hair. She wore a brown leather chest-plate that was shaped like the hood of a cobra, wore a bunch of belt-straps around her waist that connected to a pouch on her right thigh. Along with a new pair of khaki pants, she now wore muddy-brown boots. Sometimes she would don a gas mask that was visually based on the design of the Road Ripper.
After becoming the new Sorceress, she gained a new golden falcon-shaped tiara headdress with ruby eyes; she wears a new golden mantle/breastplate which circles her shoulders and connects between her chest, where there is a large red gemstone at the center. She has a bodysuit similar to her original one, albeit white where it was originally white-and-gold; at the area which connects her hips with her midsection, there is a large white gold-lined flap that hangs down to her fibulas. Behind is a shiny golden dress-tail that surrounds her hips and goes down to her tibias. She now has a pair of blue boots with golden tips, new blue wrist bracers with golden tips on both sides, golden bracers on her upper arms, and a golden-and-white cape which is meant to evoke the wings of a falcon.
Powers & Abilities[]
Sorcery Magic: Teela is a earthling of magical birthright which means she possesses the ability to manipulate magic since awakening her true power. The Sorceress possesses a vast array of magical and spellcasting abilities, and is considered the most powerful magic-wielder on modern Eternia. Some spells she performs on a regular basis. She was born a human with the affinity to control magic, she was chosen to be the next Sorceress of Grayskull.
- Spells & Phrases: Teela has a vast knowledge of mystical spells and incantations invoking names and aspects of various extra-dimensional objects, beings and sources of power. Although she has shown the ability to cast "spells" by only saying or focusing on what she wants to happen, this could be related to the nature of her powers. She has shown the ability to control and utilize her magic for many mystical purposes, such as :
- Magical Awareness: Teela has displayed the ability to sense magic and to be aware of almost anything that affects her and her surroundings.
- Sealing: Teela can seal or imprison a person or object within another person or object as she pleases. She was able to seal a cave inside the realm of Subternia that prevents Scare Glow from entering/leaving.
- Physical Augmentation: Teela can channel her magic through her body to enhance her physical abilities to superhuman levels, as shown during her fight with Evil-Lyn.
- Flight: Teela has also proven to be able to fly at will. She can also give others the ability to do so. The full extent of this ability is unknown, but she was capable of fighting an enemy while flying. She has also shown the ability to levitate.
Abilities[]
Blade Weapons Training: Teela has extensive knowledge of wielding a bladed weapon from her years of training in various martial arts disciplines as well as her "Man-at-Arm's" training.

Trivia[]
- The respirator masks Teela and Andra wear in the Poisoned Chalice where inspired by the vintage toy Road Ripper.
- This version of Teela is the biological daughter of Man-At-Arms and the Sorceress, unlike in most prior media which had her as the adoptive daughter of the former. This is similar to unrealized plans for the 2002 cartoon incarnation.
- The red eyed version of He-Man may be a reference to Anti-Eternia He-Man.
- In Revolution's fifth episode, Teela is empowered by the Power of Greyskull permanently; along with Adam. This allows Teela wield her power as the Tri Sorceress; otherwise she would be overwhelmed by the combined power.
