- Script was approved on March 1, 1985 and final script revisions were completed on April 1, 1985.
- The character models for this story, which include a total of twenty-one Trollans, were finalized on July 12, 1985.
- The sash that She-Ra and the Trollans receive at the end is called the "Ook-Lump Cluster".
- This is the first of three episodes directed by Tom Tataranowicz to end with a heart shaped fade-out. The other two being Romeo and Glimmer and Sweet Bee's Home.

- The Crimson Council made their first brief appearance during Uncle Montork's flashback in the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe episode Trouble in Trolla.
- A Different looking Electroid called Aremesh was featured in the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe episode Return of Evil.
- The close-up sequence of She-Ra using all her strength to push the Un-Fortress was previously seen in the episode Troll's Dream and will be seen again in Something Old, Something New.
