The Stone in the Sword is the 21st episode of She-Ra: Princess of Power.
Plot Summary[]
Hordak takes his new invention, the Doom Balloon to attack the Whispering Woods. Whilst trying desperately to defend their home, the Rebels each fall to Hordak's assault - when only She-Ra remains, she too becomes victim to the Doom Balloon when the stone in her sword cracks, leaving her unable to act as She-Ra ever again. Only the First Ones can help - so Adora journeys to the Crystal Castle to seek their help.
Moral[]
Loo-Kee: "Hi! Did you find where I was hiding today? If not, here's another chance. See me now? Here I am! Today, let's talk about 'sticktoitiveness.' Wow! That's a big word. But it simply means doing what Adora did today. Sticking to a job until the job is done. When you have a job like your homework, use 'sticktoitiveness.' Stick to it, until the job is done!"

Behind the Scenes[]
- Script was approved October 19, 1984 and final script revision was done February 27, 1985.
- This episode marks the first appearances of both Light Hope and the Crystal Castle, both of which Adora is already acquainted with. The circumstances of her finding the castle and meeting Light Hope would be explored in the next episode.
- Hordak sings a few slightly altered lyrics from the song Up Up and Away, orignally by the singing group The 5th Dimension.
- A different interpretation of The First Ones is part of the backstory for the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series, in which they are connected to Eternia.
Loo-Kee's hiding place[]
- Loo-Kee hides inside the wall leading to the Forbidden Corner.
Continuity[]
- The introduction to the Rebel Camp in Whispering Woods is the same shot that was seen in Into Etheria, but played in reverse.
- The shot looking up at the Crystal Castle would be reused in Out of the Cocoon.
- The animated sequence of Adora holding her sword unsheathed as she begins her transformation into She-Ra was previously used in She-Ra Unchained, Battle for Bright Moon, Friendship and Horde Prime Takes a Holiday. It will be seen again in the episode Book Burning.
Errors[]
- The animators forgot to draw Grizzlor’s nose when he tells Bow that the bars on his prison cell are made of pure Marelian Skrag.
- Kowl's size changes throughout the story, and he appears to be smaller than ever when Adora passes over him while climbing Skydancer Mountain.
