The Sword Of Grayskull is the first episode of the animated television series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. It was released September 16, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Warrior witch Teela searches for the fabled Sword of Power's champion — and finds adventurous teen Adam and his Tiger Tribe friends, Cringer and Krass.
Plot[]
Hand Witch Teela has been tasked by the Word Witch Evelyn and Kronis to find, and steal, the Sword of Grayskull and return it to them. She infiltrates the palace's armory and manages to bypass the security measures, eventually finding the sword and taking it for herself. She is met by the palace guards, who try to prevent her from leaving with the sword. They are unable to, however, and she is successfully able to get around them. Teela finds it difficult to navigate the palace when she is plagued by a voice inside her head telling her to find the swords champion.
Meanwhile, Adam is rescuing Cringer's nephew Kitty who has gotten himself stuck on a branch on the side of a cliff. Adam manages to climb down, but finds himself in a tricky situation when the tiger cub forces them to topple after chasing a dragonfly. Adam is laughed at from a distance by Krass, an old family friend. Adam and Krass must, however, run to Cringer's aid when he is captured. The two are successfully able to secure his release, and the 'Beastopoids' that captured Cringer are destroyed.
Back with their tribe, Adam, Cringer and Krass are shocked and surprised when they come across Teela, a young girl who is capable of practicing magic. For this, she is locked in a cage as punishment — Adam explains that the cats do not like magic, but he has no opinion on the matter. It quickly becomes clear that Adam has no recollection of who he is or where he belongs, and is surprised when Teela tells him that he sounds like he is from an upper-class family in the city. Adam and Teela talk about King Randor and his actions, and both surmise that he is disliked throughout both people and tribes for his behaviour.
Teela explains that a voice in her head told her to deliver a package to a champion, and let her to the tribe. The conversation between Adam and Teela is cut short, however, when Tiger Tribe are attacked by Kronis, Evelyn, Duncan and numerous reprogrammed Poacher Bots attack the village. They begin to burn down the village, and Teela hands Adam a sword, citing that a voice in her head led her to deliver the package to him. He is confused, but agrees when she asks him to get the package as far away from the village as possible. Despite his promise, Adam is forced to unwrap the sword and just as he comes face-to-face with Kronis and Evelyn, the sword lightens up and smoke wraps around Adam and the storm clouds gathered and Adam reads the inscription on the sword and is lightning hits him and the pain suddenly subsides as Adam is suddenly forced to stand up straight as he starts to transform. Adam feels his arm get longer and expand with muscles as his shoulder gets bigger. His other arm quickly expands until it's as muscled as the other one. His chest and upper body finish expanding and growing upwards. His leg was the next to explode into muscle. Adam kicks his leg out as he then returns to a standing position. The mismatch between Adam's legs causing him to lean over to one side, his remaining leg explodes with muscle as the last of his normal puny human body disappears. Adam suddenly changes as a new personality starts to take over. A personality better suited for his new bodybuilder powerful physique and he shouts like a pro wrestler "I HAVE THE POWER!!!!". As the smoke clears Evelyn and Kronis look in horror and infurration. Adam was now buff, confident, and... uh... dumb. Adam lifts his muscular arms before he quickly brings them down. Adam then flexes his arms and pecs making a grunting sound as he does so and gives a confused look. Krazz's eyes went wide stared at him with wide eyes and could not believe his transformation. And while she would never admit it she found her eyes drawn to the huge muscles on Adam's arms. Krazz tries to keep her attraction to Adam's new muscles from showing on her face in case as Cranger looks towards Krazz in shock as she says that Adam has become a buffoon, As the now muscular Adam fight off the robots, he discovered he has become muscular and Teela's eyes went wide as she recognized the power of Grayskull has changed Adam, at the same moment, Adam's use of the power of Grayskull causes the evil Keldor to be released from suspended animation at Snake Mountain. Sensing the power, Keldor swears to himself that it belongs to him.

Trivia[]
- The two Royal Guards discuss a game of "Modulok". This was the name of a villain associated with the Evil Horde in the original Masters of the Universe toy line.
- The end credits reveal these guards to be named Tuvar and Baddrah. These were the names of two villains who were forced to share one body by Skeletor and after that were known as Two Bad in the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002) episode The Monster Within.
- Adam is introduced climbing rocks and Krass meets up with him while hanging upside down. This sequence appears to be an homage to the opening sequence of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
- Several of the character's alter ego's are listed during the end credits, such as Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Ram Ma'am and Trap Jaw, even though they will not be named as such until later in the series. Kimberly Brooks also provides the voice of Eldress, but is not credited as such.
