Wonder Bread is an American brand of sliced bread. Established in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1921, it was one of the first companies to sell sliced bread nationwide by 1930. The brand is currently owned by Flowers Foods in the United States, but was owned by Continental Baking Company from 1925 to 1995, and Interstate Bakeries Corporation from 1995 to 2012.
In the 70s and 80s Wonder Bread was known for trading cards. Comic issues of the era that didn't feature Hostess comic ads, often had Wonder Bread ads mentioning trading cards, instead. Other card series of the era included Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Battlestar Galactica, Looney Tunes/DC comics and Hanna Barbera.
