Zil is a planet in The New Adventures of He-Man.
Zil was a planet located on the edge of the Tri-Solar System. It was believed to be uninhabited because it appeared to be under the constant strain of violent rain and wind storms. But in reality, the tornadoes were actually an artificially created security system created with enormous Tornado Machines to keep the planet's human population a secret and to protect the planet from enemy invaders.
The planet had in the distant past been a target of the Evil Mutants, which is why the inhabitants created their Machines to create the fake twisters. The peace the planet Zil endured lasted for countless Telks, according to the High Priest of Zil, but eventually the machines begain to fail.
However, the people of Zil did not fear for the great legend promised them "When the crystal power fails, the champion will come". The people of Zil sent out a distress call, which was answered by two Galactic Guardians.
Spinwit was the first to arrive on the planet and saved the life of a young girl named Marika. The priests of Zil immediately proclaimed him to be the champion of the prophesy, or "Champion Spinwit" and his companion He-Man was deemed to be his faithful manservant.
